Metrological Traceability

Metrological traceability is the property of a measurement result or calibration result whereby it can be related to a reference through an unbroken chain of comparisons, each contributing to the measurement uncertainty. In simpler terms, it refers to the ability to trace the measurements made in a laboratory back to internationally recognized standards or references.

By maintaining metrological traceability, laboratories and industries can demonstrate the quality and reliability of their measurements, satisfy regulatory requirements, and facilitate international acceptance and recognition of their results.
